Finding housing in Groningen can be difficult, especially at the start of the academic year. Both Hanze and the University of Groningen warn that student housing is limited and that students are generally responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Start searching as early as possible.

Register with the Municipality
Mandatory > 4 monthsIf you're staying 4 months or longer, you must register with the Gemeente Groningen. This is also how you get your BSN, needed for banking, work and healthcare.
